Container Selection: Size Matters
The most common container gardening mistake is choosing containers that are too small. Small containers restrict root development, dry out too quickly in Australian heat, and provide insufficient volume for productive yields. The minimum useful container for most vegetables is 30cm diameter and 30cm deep; for tomatoes, eggplants, and capsicums, 40 to 50cm diameter and 40 to 50cm deep is better.
